I really have held off for asking this for weeks but I just have to know because its REALLY bugging me. Now, everyone here should know that I LOVE bernadette as my name says - her voice, her personality -everything!
I also think she is and always has been, very beautiful.....but.......
in the last few pictures I've seen of her since the Tonys her eyes have looked different. Kind of more "up" at the outer corners. Has she just changed the way shes doing her eye liner or has she had something more permanant done? Please don't give me lectures on being superfacial - its just something I've noticed but its not like it bothers me or anything!

jenny...don't worry about asking your question, it's perfectly fine. i don't know for sure, but here's my opinion/observation.
bernadette has a tendancy to take the makeup of a character and use it in real life. since she's been playing rose, she's gone way into the purples and lavenders. the bold colors have something to do with it, b/c before, she used more subtle colors.
i think i wrote this somewhere before, and i hate to say it again, but i think she's just getting older. i'm not calling her old, but she is now 55 and she's starting to look in her 40s. hahaha. not bad for a woman in show business! see, Bernadette laughs and uses facial expressions and sings and shows emotion, so those lines were bound to comeout eventually!
and as to your question about surgery, i have to say i dont think so simply b/c she sings. first of all, she seems like more of a "natural" remedy person, anyway. but she can't get it dore the saem reason babara can't fix her nose. when you sing, you resonate all over, especially the face, and if you're in head voice, especially the nasal cavities. if you risk correcting mother nature, you risk the ability to sing the same. besides, Bernadette is perfect just the way she is!  hope i helped a little, Jenny...

Ive noticed a difference too...but honestly i dont think its anything a week of solid rest wouldnt fix.
The last 4 months have probably been extremely tiresome and stressful...that's bound to take their toll on anyone's looks.

Bernadette has had a TON of plastic surgery to keep up her appearance. Now don't jump down my throat; everyone in the industry has had work done. Bern has had facelifts, eye jobs, liposuction, the works. If you think someone can naturally look like that at 55, you're naive. That said, the reason Bern looks better than the other ladies who have had as much work done or more, is because her genes are great, and her skin is flawless.
Moving on to your question about Anne Hathaway...I found out that she was considered for Louise early on in the process, but soon after, a film commitment took precedence, and so did college. She has a movie coming out in '04 called "Ella Enchanted," and she goes to Vassar.

I've been wondering that too. She says she hasn't had plastic surgery and I believe her. But maybe she's had Botox. Or maybe she's just doing her makeup different. Either way, she's still beautiful.

I completely agree BroadwayBabyGal. I think it's entirely rude of annonymous to disclose that sort of info. And personally, I find it hard to believe that this person really knows Bernadette. It's amazing what people will do to try to get attention. And besides, what Bernadette has done to her body is nobody's business but her own. Sorry to come across so harsh as I don't like to get involved in any sort of confrontations on this board, but this time I simply couldn't hold back.

What you people consider to be a big deal is not a big deal to people in the entertainment industry. If you were to go to lunch with a few actresses (even those much younger than Bernadette), you would hear then speaking very honestly about what they have had done, and discussing which surgeon does the best this or the best that. It's not a big deal, just a reality of show business. You have a need to put Bernadette on a pedestal, but if you were more realistic, you'd realize that she ages, just like everyone else, and that in order to continue being employed, she gets a few nips and tucks.

Anonymous, I don't care if she's had plastic surgery or not. It doesn't change my opinion that she's extremely talented and a great person. But what I can't stand is you acting all high and mighty as if you know everything about her. Have you ever met Bernadette?

Sunday ramblings:
Cosmetic surgery isn't a crime nor should it be considered somehow "wrong" or have other "bad" connotations.
Performers exercise, eat right, stay out of the sun, get lots of sleep, etc, etc, to keep themselves in top shape. Good for them--it's their job, as much as learning their lines and signing autographs for fans (don't really think that one is necessary).
I don't know anything at all about what Bernadette has-or has not-had done. All I can see is a vital, starting to age a bit, healthy, apparently very happy woman at the top of her game..and BRAVA to her.
So...WHO CARES?

I agree with Jean, cosmetic surgery is not a crime, unless your name is Michael Jackson, but I don't think she's had surgery. I caught part of "The Jerk" yesterday, (and that was what, close to 25 years ago?) and you can tell that she has always taken great care of her skin. It's just a combination of good genes and doing what's necessary to stay looking good.
And we know Bliss does know Bernadette, so if she says she hasn't had surgery, than that's good enough for me.

Well... I do think Bernadette looks different lately but I think it's cause she looks like 40 instead of 30 now... And if Bliss says she hasn't then she hasn't...

Sorry to have started this whole thing but it was just an honest question - I really didn't mean anything by it. I just noticed a bit of a difference to her eye shape and I thought I might have been looking at pictures of her too much and gone completely mad!
